Just8 was delighted last week to be invited to the opening night of the newly opened Trading House in Glasgow (St Vincent Street, opp Cafe Andaluz). The venue has a real old world historical feel to it with a beautifully converted old building. With a vast selection of cocktails, craft beers, wine etc plus a variety of different food, I think this is a place to rival the likes of Browns. I discovered by new favorite cocktail – a ‘lemon and anise sour.’ The Trading House is a great addition to Glasgow’s bars and restaurants.
PS Did you see that big cart led by horses outside Queen Street station? That was advertisement for this new venue!
LAST WEEKEND, weekend, we visited this Belgian Organic bakery on High Holborn Road during a Christmas trip in London. It was a beautiful oasis of calm in a busy London. Attached to it is the flagship Aveda Salon & Spa. Get your hair done and have a pastry to keep you going. Or simply just go in to get some brunch. It is a bright and spacious eaterie with long wooden tables. A very pleasant experience.
Just8 gives Le Pain Quotidien 8/10. Nice place to go for brunch, in the city centre, with no crowds around.
