Thaikhun, Silverburn Glasgow
Just8 Glasgow Food Blog was delighted to be invited to sample the menu at Thaikhun (pronounced Tycoon) in Silverburn, Glasgow. It is situated in Silverburn’s new £20 million leisure and dining extension. This restaurant serves up tasty authentic Thai street food. It even has the Thai decor to match. The service was attentive and fast.
We had the Sukhumvit 38 Platter to share. This consisted of a traditional taster platter with some of their best selling dishes: salt and pepper squid, fish cakes, chicken spring rolls and honey pork. Definitely worth a mention were the delicious mini-fish cakes.
For mains we had the Massaman Gai (chicken curry) and the Panang Goong (Penang prawn curry). Massaman Gai is a curry flavoured with cinnamon and star anise, cooked with chicken, potatoes, onion and cashew nuts. Panang Goong is king prawns cooked in a creamy red curry sauce with palm sugar and basil. Both really tasty and both choices we would whole-heartedly recommend.
If you are looking for somewhere to eat in Silverburn, don’t hesitate to give Thaikhun a try!
Just8 gives Thaikhun 8/10.
